I got the pleasure to take a group of students from our middle years program down to the Prestige to engage in a day celebrating diversity, inclusion, and provide input into the districts strategic plan. It was an exceptionally cold day, but we did our part for the environment, leading by example, and walking down - sharing some laughs along the way. It began with an overview of the day then all joining together to drum and sing together 'The Travelling Song'. We got to hear from a student from the Creston family of schools who lives with cerebral palsy. Our district SOJI representative led and supported a panel of students throughout our district to share their stories of resilience and challenge. In the afternoon, games and challenges broke up the day before students were able to share their voices towards the upcoming strategic plan.
