Wandering Among the Wildflowers

Welcome Entrance

Hello Wildflower Families,

What a great first week! It was so wonderful to welcome students back into the school and experience their joy and happiness. I feel that this year we have a particular special group of kids and as I walked through each of our class families I was overwhelmed by the joyful smiling faces.

I also want to give a big thanks to Jodi and the whole PAC for the warm welcoming they created for new and returning families. It is so unique to get to experience the community that we have at our school, and it is fostered by having such a supportive parent community. Speaking of which, if you are available, we would love to see you at our first PAC meeting of the year on Wednesday, Sept. 10th at 3pm.

Hot Lunch

We’re excited to begin our hot lunch program this week! Information on how to order has already been sent out. If you need financial assistance for hot lunch, please don’t hesitate to reach out to either me or Anne, our school clerical assistant.

In addition to hot lunch, we also offer healthy lunches and snacks for students who need extra support. These are funded by both the provincial and federal governments. If you would like your child to receive a healthy lunch and snacks on days when hot lunch is not available, please contact me or Anne.

Coats and the Lost & Found

On a related note, the Knights of Columbus run the Coats for Kids program, ensuring that every student has a warm coat for the winter. If your child needs a coat, just let Anne or me know, and we’ll be happy to help.

Speaking of clothing, our lost and found is already filling up with misplaced items. While we’re exploring ways to make it more accessible, the best way to ensure your child’s clothing is returned is to label it with their name on the tag.

Bell Schedule

Finally, just a reminder that the school doors open at 8:25 and school begins at 8:35. Elementary students finish at 2:50 and our middle school wraps up at 3:00. While we do have phones at the school for our students to use, and we are happy to pass on messages to them, it is best if students know their plan for after school prior to coming to school.

All the best

Nick
